FAMU’s “F.Y.E.” The First Year Experience Program for New Minds

Team BNz Reporter Jay Sweet presents a great story and extremely helpful information to students about the First Year Experience program is a new initiative at Florida A&M University that help incoming freshmen accommodate to the college lifestyle. The orientation class is required for all students and will count as a one credit hour class. Students not only learn history about the campus, but also learn tips on how to be a well rounded student with time management, study tactics, and prioritizing.

Upperclassmen assist as Peer Mentors to help guide the new students through the class with personal experience stories so that students can have someone to relate to. The class is scheduled to be offered through the 2012 school year and will have activities such as dance, acting, and study sessions.
