Jeffonda “Jae” Evans
As a student at St. Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina, Jeffonda A. Evans majored in Theatre Arts and Film Productions. During the course of her studies, she wrote a full-length screen play, “Restoration of Love” which was adapted to a stage production which she directed. She participated in several other stage and film productions as director, actress, editor and technical support. Jeffonda was leading actress in the St. Augustine’s College stage production of “Flyin’ West” written by Pearl Cleage. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Film Productions in 2004.
“Does Hip-Hop Raise Children?” was Ms. Evans’s first film production which she wrote, directed, produced, and edited. During the documentary completion process, Ms. Evans obtained an internship at Carolina Pinnacle Studios in Yanceyville, North Carolina. There she worked diligently on a hip-hop stage production, “Rise…Cause that’s What’s Up”, written and directed by Christopher “Play” Martin and Cheryl “Salt” James. Through her hard work and exceptional credibility, Mr. Martin and Mrs. James granted an interview for her documentary. Ms. Evans is presently promoting her documentary.
Carolina Pinnacle Studios’ CEO and owner, Faiger M. Blackwell contacted Ms. Evans to fill the position Director of Film Development. In this position she was assistant director on the film “Apt. 36D written and directed by Christopher Martin.
Presently Ms. Evans works with HP4 Digital Works & Solutions as a director, producer and cinematographer. She also is the Senior Producer of BrandNewz, Durham, NC.
